WOMEN’S COMMITTEE
The Women's Committee, formed in 2016, provides a safe space for women-identifying members of NABET 700-M UNIFOR. It addresses their unique film, television, and digital media challenges by supporting and encouraging professional development and diversifying the talent pool.
The Committee welcomes Members who identify as women or have a gender identity other than cis* man. We promote awareness and advocate for various women's issues within the labour movement and the community.
Chair: Alessandra Faria, Set Decoration Member

NABET 700-M UNIFOR recognizes the importance of gender equity and diversity in building a more inclusive workplace and welcoming culture.
Women’s Representative
and Anti-Harassment
In 2019, NABET 700-M UNIFOR made history by successfully negotiating the position of an on-set Women’s Representative in our Collective Agreement, the first of its kind, to assist women with concerns of harassment and violence in the workplace. Further, the Union secured an additional $1 per hour for Members who fulfill the role.
In support of the Union’s Women’s Representative role, the Women’s Committee worked diligently to develop and produce an Anti-Harassment brochure to help publicize the role and create awareness about workplace harassment.
