NABET 700-M UNIFOR has long been an advocate for diversity in the film, television, and digital media industry and is committed to working to further break down barriers to create equitable and diverse film sets. Over the past few years, NABET 700-M UNIFOR has been committed to strengthening our partnerships with various organizations to address issues of diversity.
Through our partnerships, we have created multiple opportunities within the industry, ranging from paid apprenticeships to co-op student placements on sets, mentorship programs, providing access to required training, and educational awareness of NABET 700-M UNIFOR and the unlimited career opportunities the film and television industry has to offer.
We are committed to strengthening our partnerships with various organizations to address diversity issues, using an intersectional approach involving women in non-traditional roles and people from diverse backgrounds.

The organization is recognized locally, nationally, and internationally for excellence and innovation in programming and as the global centre for Indigenous media arts. imagineNATIVE (legal entity: The Centre for Aboriginal Media) is a registered charity committed to creating a greater understanding of Indigenous peoples and cultures by presenting contemporary Indigenous-made media art, including film, video, audio and digital media.
The imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival — the organization’s primary activity — launched in 2000. imagineNATIVE has long been committed to creating a Festival atmosphere that is inclusive, accessible, welcoming, and celebratory for artists, audiences, and delegates alike.

The OYA Emerging Filmmaker Program (formerly known as Black Youth Pathways to Industry) is a training and job placement initiative led by the OBAC that focuses on the training of participants who have recently graduated from post-secondary and are actively looking for gainful employment in the industry. The initiative focuses on building media literacy and mentorships to support post-secondary individuals from the Black community to secure employment in the film and television and supporting industries. The role of a project partner is to provide that support through industry-standard technical training, employment opportunities, work creation or long-term mentorship.
NABET 700-M UNIFOR has been a project partner since 2020.
