This course is intended for those who are looking to learn more about low voltage LED systems and how to complete an LED install on set from the designer’s concept to the final result.
You will identify what steps need to be taken and what questions need to be asked to bring the art department’s rendering to life using LEDs. Registration is now open! Learn the basics of low voltage lighting including:
Colour temperature
Specifying product for a variety of applications and locations
Benefits and drawbacks of different voltages
Power and line-loss calculation
Controller settings
Safety
Approved and recommended practices
NOTE: Although soldering will not be taught, participants will acquire troubleshooting skills as well as learn how to install all parts of the LED system to ensure a smooth result for the shooting crew. You should come away from the course with a confidence to undertake LED projects on their next show.
This training is lecture-style with demonstrations and hands-on learning. Stations will be set up with all the tools required to complete an installation of FlexLED Tape, Power and Control. Troubleshooting will be the final hands-on element where the groups will work together to solve some commonly encountered issues.
