The purpose of this training is to prepare technicians to be confident union lamp operators. Over a 2-day period that includes both classroom and hands-on learning, we will address the life of a daily, whether on the road or in the studio, and provide department specific training, tips and safety information.
The purpose of this training is to prepare technicians to be confident union lamp operators. Over a 2-day period that includes both classroom and hands-on learning, we will address the life of a daily, whether on the road or in the studio, and provide department specific training, tips and safety information.
The course will cover set basics including cable runs, calculating amperage, and how to work with a new crew on a new set. Participants will learn about the lamps and the gear common to set life and how to operate and care for them. The course will also address job longevity and learning.
Instructor:
Sarah Beck is not just a long-time lamp operator but also an award-winning artist and badass mother with a background in education. She also operates a mean lamp and is keen to share her experience.
