1970 - NABET 700-M Unifor was created to supply videotape technicians. However, it later expanded its services to include television and film technicians for Toronto's growing production industry.

2013 - The CEP and the CAW merged to form Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union, representing more than 300,000 members from all sectors nationwide. NABET 700-M Unifor currently has over 3,000 qualified technicians in fourteen departments of the film and television industry.

1994 - Nabet 700 merged with the Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP), the third-largest trade union in North America, with a membership base of over 180,000 members.
